Once upon a time, there was a certain person who liked browsing TV Tropes. She was also an occasional editor, generally providing examples from video games she liked or (if she was feeling ambitious) correcting formatting and/or making pages look nicer.

Then, one day, she took to doing game reviews and called herself Gaming Pixie. The very, VERY few people who found them generally seemed to enjoy them, and in a rare moment of bravery, she thought, “You know, some of my videos fit certain tropes pretty well. Maybe I could add some.” So, she went to that Happy Fun TV Tropes site and picked a handful of tropes to add a link to. Thus, visits to her site went up from “Effectively Nonexistent” to “Negligible”. And there was much rejoicing.

But the Pixie had a dream: that someday, someone would enjoy her work enough that they felt inspired to give her a TV Tropes page of her own. And a few weeks later, someone wonderful made it happen. Sure, it’s not the lengthiest page and almost no one uses or sees it, but at some point in history, someone looked at the Pixie’s efforts and thought, “I like this. This deserves some recognition.” And just knowing someone thought that much gives her a reason to smile.

(Oh, and as a side note, I honestly don’t care what people fantasize about as long as their sense of reality remains firmly grounded. If someone thinks I’m cute or that video X was sexy, I generally take it as a compliment. ^^ And I really do appreciate the whole TV Tropes thing. I’d love to see more added to it.)
